Air Jordan V (5) “Toro Bravo” Pack | Release Date: May 30, 2009

These two pairs of kicks have been known by many names in the past, such as the “Raging Bull Pack” or the “Defining Moments Package 2“. The “Toro Bravo” Pack consists of two colorways of the Air Jordan V (5), and has a confirmed release date of May 30th. Each colorway has an unique inspiration behind it, such as Michael Jordan’s passion for the game. As with every other Air Jordan pack, these come in a special double box created with an interesting design. Release Reminder: May 2, 2009

Last weekend was a little quiet in terms of sneaker releases, but the folks over at Nike and Jordan Brand are bringing the heat this week. With the extremely succesful release of the first Nike Air Yeezy colorway last month, Nike Sportswear (NSW) is set to roll out the second pair which hosts a black upper with pink accents and a glow in the dark sole. This weekend, Jordan Brand is expected to release four marquee colorways of the Air Jordan I (1) which many sneakerheads have been looking forward to for a while now. The AJ1s will release in two packs, not to be mistaken for packages, consisting of a Cinco De Mayo pack and a Laser Blue Polka Dot pack.

The Cinco De Mayo Pack includes a white and black based Air Jordan 1 which are both accented by multicolored stitching and a multicolored Jordan Wings logo on the ankle. The Laser Blue Polka Dot pack yields a mid and low cut AJ1 which both host laser blue polka dots, stitching, and outsoles. The Nike Air Yeezy will retail for $215, whereas the Air Jordan 1 Mids and Low will retail for $100 and $95, respectively. Last weekend, Jordan Brand released three new sneakers, and this weekend will also bring a new trio of Air Jordans. On April 18, 2009, Jordan Brand is set to to release their Prom Pack which is essentially made for high school students looking for some fresh kicks to wear to Prom. The Prom Pack consists of two pairs of theAir Jordan I (1) Low which both feature patent leather uppers with thin laces and black midsoles. This weekend, the Air Jordan Dub Zero will also make its return via a new colorway which hosts a white upper with varsity red, cement grey, and black accents. As most can remember, the Dub Zero released only a few years back, and many sneakerheads were a bit surprised when they heard news of its return. As previously mentioned, the Air Jordan I (1) Low - Prom Pack and the Air Jordan Dub Zero - White/Varsity Red-Black-Cement Grey will release on April 18, 2009 for $100 and $160, respectively. Every once in a while, a sneaker threatens to usurp Jordan Brand’s monopoly of popular weekend sneaker releases. This time around, the Nike Air Yeezy is that sneaker, and it has definitely caused a stir in the industry ever since it was first seen around a year ago. Though there are five variations of the Air Jordan I (1) releasing this weekend, the Nike Air Yeezy is most definitely one of the most anticipated sneakers of 2009. The Nike Air Yeezy is set to release in extremely limited quantities at a retail price of $215; thus, many sneakerheads may have to forget the Yeezy, and end up copping some Air Jordans instead.

This weekend, Jordan Brand is set to release a plethora of sneakers including the first couple colorways of the Air Jordan 2.5 Team 5/8 as well as an Easter Basket Pack and a Polka Dot Pack. A Georgetown Hoyas inspired Air Jordan Phly Legend is also set to release tomorrow, April 4, 2009. The Easter Basket Pack is composed of an Air Jordan 1 Retro Mid, an Air Jordan Phly Legend, and an Air Jordan I Retro Low Velcro. The Polka Dot Pack will release in the form of an Air Jordan 1 Mid and an Air Jordan 1 Low Phat. Jordan Brand will also continue their AJ1 High Strap series with a new black/university blue colorway.
